Bella and Baron

I screamed soo loudly as I bow down my head in a bid to curb the pain inflicted on my fingers. The pain was too much to bear. I could feel the cartilage and collateral ligaments of my knee dancing to the excruciating pain forcing me to stay on the grimy floor as I writhed as a dying snake. My eyes were fixed on my broken finger as I visualized a white colored bone on it. It was broken. I mean, my finger was broken and it had exposed even the phalanges. I kept on wailing at the top of my voice until there was no sound coming from my mouth again. All my mouth and my facial muscles did were look like I was wailing but unfortunately, no sound could manage to come out.

‘My God!’ I screamed. What had he turned to? I mean, I thought Boyka was the one who had inscribed this utmost Satanism in him. At this moment, I had no doubt he was the real ‘proprietor’. I gazed at him. I was still crying at the top of my voice as I slowly writhed away from him. I could not even walk; I walked on my knees just like a toddler as I calculated to what extent I was to the door. All I wanted for now was to escape the whole mess that I had got myself into.

He slowly came forward and sat on his desk. He sat right on the place he had cut my finger on. To be much more vivid, his buttock had sat on my blood. I pushed myself quickly towards the corner near the door. I now feared him for sure. He was not going to help me at any cost. My heart was trembling so hard such that I could feel it beating. I gazed at him. I felt so bad for having assisted him get out of the club. This is what it cost me. To start with, I was naked, I hadn’t eaten a thing, I was smelling my own feaces , I had been roughed up, I had almost been raped and lastly, I had lost a finger. All this because of helping someone who I thought was my to-be boyfriend get home safely.

[ COMPLETE ] : THE OLYMPIAN ONE NIGHT STAND

JONTE AND CATE JENNER

image

Jonte and Cate Jenner had completed their degrees at a widely recognized University. Completing the degrees was the happiest thing in life that really made them match. After two years of experience, they met again at the same university. Coincidentally, they all wanted to pursue a master’s course. They met across an isolated path as Jonte was going to the lecture hall.
At first, he could not seem to get a clear view. He sent glances towards her for a number of times until they approached each other.
‘Jenner!’ he called out as if he did not know her real name.
‘Jonte’ she called back his name and they hugged.
‘What are you doing here in campus?’ Jonte asked as he inspected her by scrolling his eyes down her books.
‘I have just come back to pursue my master’s degree. ‘What about you?’ she said asked him, ‘what are you doing in campus?’
‘That’s a coincidence! I have also come to pursue my master’s degree’ he said as he glanced around to view whether someone was peeping at them.
They did not have any relationship before. They were just mates back in the undergraduate halls.
‘Where were you heading to? It’s already 2pm.’ He asked Jenner.

The Hombres in Negro Veils

The Hombres in Negro Veils

The time was 10am.

I was seated silently at my favorite corner inside the library. My long A4 books and fancy notebook together with those rare fancy biros you receive when you attend a conference at the likes of Kempinski Hotels; were just in front of me on top of the table. I was strategically placed such that I would view every corner of the entire huge library. I was the kind of person who got easily distracted when someone got up from their seats or when they started walking around the library. I kept peeping on them.

The structure of the library was big. It was 6 stories. I was in the Biology department which was situated in the 4th floor. Mind you, it was a spacious hall. As a biology body, it had various artifacts that made it wonderful and beautiful. The hall had an aquarium where different kind of fish swum, there were two huge man-made human skeletons on the sides and also some enclosed algae plantations still inside the library. The hall had in addition, 360 rotating executive seats. The long windows and numerous fans made the massive hall conducive for learning activities despite the large number of readers who were seated doing their et cetera. At the very entrance, long alternating shelves lined up the walls of the entrance showcasing the numerous books in store for us at the library, forming some kind of an aisle that led inside the 4th floor.

A WORD FOR THE YOUTH

young rich

Hello Youth,

Your time as a youth will come and later disappear. You are young for now but days are counting and time waits for no man. Soon, you will hit 40, then 60 and later 90 if you so lucky to see the years. You will become dependent on your grandchildren in your old age or your servants if you can afford them to perform simple activities of daily living for you. In case you did not realize, time is running. We were in 2005, now we are in 2017; it was Obama now its Trump. Ebola has come and gone. You were in elementary school, now you are almost graduating. Some have already graduated. What you did not realize is that people are different. You could be pursuing a course with your course mate but he/she has a million dollar plan in what they really want to do in life. After 3 -5 years, you are flabbergasted to view their companies and businesses making headlines. Maybe, he/she had informed you about the plan a few years back but you assumed or took it so lightly; made them think they are fools who could never accomplish anything in life. You realize your thinking was so myopic on them. You realize that they had a plan for the future. You realize that they did not waste any of their time while you were busy downgrading their ‘supernatural’ dreams as you called them. It dawns on you that what you threw to them is what they picked up and got the courage to do what you dimmed impossible!

However, time is gone. She /he is there and you are here!

Lesson number one: Treasure your Friends. Encourage them in what they want to pursue. Never underestimate the power of a young person. Never downgrade their dreams.

The ‘Black Days’ In The Streets

At the sides of the road, they crawl using their ischemic worn out palms and semi-gangrenous knees gradually as they look upon the riders of cars and those walking with a pair of blessed legs. Others watch from their wheelchairs as they wave to at least get something for the day from you who sometimes dismiss them as pretenders.

‘wachana na uyo anajifanya. Io mguu amekunja tu!’ (Leave that begging man alone, he has just coiled his leg so we give him money)that is how they say.

Their eyes depicting the kind of suffering they have endured all through their entire life. Some are children aged between 6yrs to 14yrs, young adolescents and the aged who should be taken care by their children and grandchildren. Why abandon your parents and grandparents who survived on ‘weaving baskets and selling soap stones’ for you to live that kind of posh life in the city? Why don’t we have that heart to care for our parents despite everything they have done for us? They brought us into this world. Young girls begging on the roads are raped repeatedly, men sodomized day in day out, and nobody raises an alarm nor cares about whatever happens to them. Haven’t we heard enough stories?

There is something that has been happening in secret that should be brought out to light. There are certain people who are taking them for a ‘bad ride’. There are certain people making the disabled people feel the pain of whom they are. Some even wish they could be left alone to die than continue suffering in the places they are in. Some have cried until they cannot do it anymore. Life has become a misery to many of the disabled people in town.
