THIS IS PART 6 OF THE STORY ∇∇∇
He walked to the red wall on the side where there was a white socket. The socket contained two buttons. A red and a green one. He immediately pressed the red button and the machine started grinding. The sound it produced was so loud such that I felt a buzz in my ears – tinnitus. Despite having the jacket that Baron had given me, I still could feel a cold shiver breaking through my spine. I tried to urinate but there was nothing on my bladder. I was restless with my mind soo preoccupied. I had seen what he was capable of doing and I did not want to be the victim of his acts. I swore to die trying to save myself rather than be pulled like a headless chicken. I sat on the cold floor, just next to Boyka. He seemed to be regaining his power as he moved far away from the machine. I too could not want to be near it. I moved away from it too. Baron stood just in front of us, watching us as we tried to escape out of a roundhouse. There was no way out for sure.
‘What did he want to do with us?’ I asked myself.
I could not want the thought of me being grinded by the machine coming anywhere cross to my mind. I trembled.
Baron took on of the wooden chairs and sat before us. I spaced again far away from both of them. I trusted none. They all had left scars in my life both physical and emotional. I hunched up my knees to my chin and covered myself completely with the jacket hiding my thighs.
‘Boyka!’ Baron called out on him. ‘How could she have overpowered you?’ he looked at him straight in the eyes, as he seemed to be quite ungrateful with him.
‘Tell me the reason as to why she beat you up like this.’ He asked again as he seemed to get bitter. He started biting his lower lip as the huge vein on the forehead started protruding.
My head had not lost consciousness to the extent of not visualizing completely. I could see a blurred vision of a human figure at the door. I did not even want to think who it was. All I knew is that I was in safe hands. He stood there looking at me with those sharp chatoyant eyes. He got closer still fixed on my embodiment. I wanted him for sure. I wanted to feel his passion, his touch, his taste and his everything that he had to offer me. There was this spirit in me that was soo wanting at the moment. Despite having the drink to my occiput, I was able to move myself like a slithering snake towards his direction. The dim lights made just the right atmosphere. I do not know if it is my eyes that had the blur or was it the lighting. I just felt cool with the view.
He sat at the end of the couch that I was in. gradually; I crawled on fours towards where he was and hugged him from behind. I held his shoulders tightly as I feared I would trip over. The zeal in me was killing my system. My short dress had already coasted upwards towards the head of my femur bone but who cared? It was Josh and I. I mean, I wanted him. I bent his neck on the side and gave a moist peck on his neck. He twitched. I could feel the warmth in his skin. The engorged neck veins were sending a message. He was also getting into the mood despite not revealing it physically. I could see his toes curled up on the wooly-carpeted floor.
Part one of this story here >>> PART ONE
The time was now 11.34am
We could not feel the chilly breathe that was emanating from the disorganized air that was being squashed by the roaring fans in the library. We could not feel the ample ambience of the library any more. We were losing our patients and our hope. Some of us had defecated on our bodies, children were crying, some were being bandaged while some came to the floor we were in and dropped down dead with shocking bullet holes drilled inside their bodies. The faces of the people around me both young and old looked terrified. We knew what was to be our fate despite the government efforts. We knew these people and what they usually did to hostages they captured. We had the feeling it is a lost battle. The only thing we would do was to hide. However, what if they lit the floor on fire? Alternatively, sprayed the entire floor with bullets and grenades? Hiding would not be of any help. Faking death by applying someone’s blood on our faces also could not be of any use. These people have the tendency to continue shooting as the lifeless body of an innocent citizen jumps up and down on the floor as the laugh at the top of their voices.
All I knew is that we would run and meet ourselves stranded at the topmost floor. I started trembling as I garnered some frail strength to keep we awake. I had the feeling that today was actually my last day to breathe the air of this world.Just as I was in my thinking closet about the current status quo, there was a HUGE explosion just at the floor below where I lay. I actually felt my body lifted up by the pressure it had exerted on the floor I was in. huge cracks had started protruding due to the effect of the explosion. The floor was threatening to sink in at the left corner of the library. The people in the library were all screaming and running towards the top floor. It was the only way to move away from all the troubles that were coming towards us. I felt as if I could make myself fall on the ground and cover myself with a fellow’s blood. I feared the consequences.

Costa lifted her up and started walking towards one of the private rooms. The club’s wall was lined with silver plated rims together with the rare shiny sapphires, which made the aisle to the insides extremely gorgeous. The blue red dim lights along the aisle were just ‘on point’ was they anchored them towards their final destination. Costa held her up above his torso as he walked. Their hungry lips would say high to each other as they continued walking. Little did he know Kate’s plan. Deep inside her, she also had that negative feeling that anything would happen to her. The fact that she had seen the weapon for mass destruction inside his coat, she felt threatened. Nevertheless, she kept herself strong.
They arrived at a certain dark corridor with minimal romantic lights leading to a gold-plated door. He walked until he halted at the doorstep. At the top of the door, was a plate written ‘COSTA’. It was his private room. He slowly put her down and placed his right palm on the sensor at the door, which recognized him. The door opened after a number of clicks. He lifted her up once again and walked inside locking the door using his leg. He dropped her on the massive bed. She glowed in beauty. Using her investigative eyes, she started observing the room’s contents and design. She explored the interiors seductively as she exhumed every part of herself that she wanted Costa to view. She knew how to keep him interested. She kept turning and twisting on top of the bed as she glared at the room’s beauty.
In front of her, was a huge screen that showed the ongoing inside the club. She would see her friends Sharon and Clare taking strange men for a ride as they danced electrically. She was positive about the plan.

Robert, Sharon and Erick
Robert – an Administration Police (now in Prison)
Sharon – A Lady Caught Between Two Lovers
Erick – A Mental Health and Psychiatry Doctor
[At the Town Memorial Hospital]
The time was 6am in the morning. This is the time the hospital professionals, who were working on night shift, review their patient status and wellbeing. The silence that had previously enveloped the hospital environment had being tampered with as nurses and doctors reviewed the patients.
Robert opened his eyes. The first thing that caught his eyes was a rotating fan overhead attached to a clean-white ceiling. He turned his head to the right and noticed a hospital table-like cabinet. This surprised him. He tried to get up only to realize he was in a hospital. His clothes were different. They were apron like and he did not have anything on the inside leave alone underwear! He slowly turned inside the warm white sheets.
As he went to turn on the left side, he saw two men looking at him keenly as they wrote some notes on certain white papers. Mental Health Nurse Specialists were studying his behavior to monitor for effective management rather than the normal management using pharmacotherapy.
He abruptly sat on the bed pushing his blankets towards his legs. He got out of the bed and started knocking at the observation window. The observation window was a window that had been placed to view or observe the patient inside the room. As he was busy knocking the door, one of the nurses got inside the room and faced him.
‘How are you feeling Mr. Robert?’ he asked cautiously.
Robert looked at him from head to toe and then back to the observation window.
‘Where are my clothes?’ Robert asked. ‘I need them. There was a picture inside those clothes that I really need.’
‘I will have your clothes brought to you soon. But why do you really need the picture more than the clothes?’ he asked as he tried to look straight on his face.
Minutes after being asked why he needed the picture, Robert’s facial expression changed. The midline vein between the sinciput became more pronounced. He started sweating as the veins in his hands became much more visible. He gazed at the nurse who had already started stepping backwards. He had sensed the fury in Robert’s face.
His eyes turned red and at this moment, he became uncontrollable. He rushed towards the nurse as he shouted, ‘Give Me Back My Picture!’
This article revolves around the holistic management of victims/survivors of sexual violence in the Kenyan region. This encompasses all the aspects of life that in the long run reduces the complications of sexual violence if at all they are followed to the latter. In most cases, management of sexual violence for survivors in Kenya is done in an atomistic way such that the victim doesn’t achieve complete liberty from the sexual violence episode. This culminates to later psychological, physical, mental and emotional distress that disturbs the victims. To sum up the introduction, the male child has being neglected when it comes to sexual assaults management. When the term sexual violence hits the headlines, all eyes turn on the girl child manipulation rather than focusing also on the boys who are assaulted. Most of the boys/men who are affected end up shying away from opening up to people about the assault. They face challenging psychological trauma because of the societal and community attitudes about men and their masculinity.
DEFINATION OF TERMS
Multi-sectorial management–when you manage something or a situation using the multi-sectorial management, you encompass and counter the problem in a holistic way such that you cater for all the possible outcomes that could come with it. Different disciplines interact to facilitate the positive recovery of a certain victim.
Sexual Violence – sexual act committed against someone without their consent or without them freely getting submissive to the act. It includes accomplished or attempted penetration of a victim. Examples of sexual violence include:-
- Date rape
- Drug induced /alcohol facilitated
- Non-physically forced sexual act in which happens after a person has been verbally pressured or by methods of intimidation without their consent
- Spousal rape
- Statutory rape
- Sexual abuse with people with disability
Survivors of sexual violence – these are the victims who have survived accomplished or attempted sexual violence. They are often psychologically unprivileged.
Gender Based Violence (GBV)–this is any type of cruelty directed or targeted against at individuals or groups on basis of their gender. According to research, a significant number of women will at some point in their life experience gender based violence. However, the number of boys/men who experience GBV is unknown.
MULTISECTORIAL APPROACH IN MANAGEMENT OF SURVIVORS OF SEXUAL VIOLENCE
In the scaling up of multi-sectorial approaches to management of survivors of sexual violence, we take a look at the various sectors or disciplines that are responsible for taking over the mandate to assist the survivors of sexual violence. The disciplines involved in the multi-sectorial management of survivors of sexual violence include:-
- Health Management
- Psychosocial Management
- Security Management of the victim.
- Legal /Justice Management of the victim
The collaboration of this disciplines facilitates quick recovery and positive psychological state of the victims. In case any of the disciplines is omitted, the chances of recovery fully from the ordeal could complicate in the future or culminate to worse situations for the individual.
