UNDERSTANDING BAD POLITICS AND ELEVATING YOUR WAY UP AS A CONCERNED CITIZEN
‘Politics! Politics! Politics!’ These are the usual plangent sounds we view daily in our media stations .What’s bad politics? It is a dirty hide and seek game between the governors and the governed.
Like a bat, the people in the cat –bird seat can’t see beyond their own nose. They just want to maintain their status quo by grasping all what they can in power .They should look further in the future. Actually, I would say that the kind of politics we have in most countries is a special ticket given by citizens blindly for the enrichment of various individuals in the society .That’s why most politicians never bring out any development and inventions because their minds are much engrossed with accumulation of wealth other than serving the needs of people who are in dire need of their support. Yet people continue voting for the same corrupt minds .Truly, we will always be governed inappropriately.
In some countries, especially those headed by some women or else liberal and innovative minds , I can elucidate politics as a prudent and a nurturing concern for the common good; but not as the game that helps one get what he or she wants while in the seat of power. Most nations are effete in attaining meaningful democratic reforms because most government officials are appointed in equivocal means. Truly ambiguous!
Government functionaries will persist in employing their unqualified relatives and tribesmen in whatever public posts available. During the eve of elections, we are promised better and lucrative times, all the while as they employ their relatives and steal cash unscrupulously enriching their social status only! Why? And yet we still support and vote for them as a block because they are our tribesmen.
These same people earning seven figure salaries plus the cash accumulating from their flourishing businesses do not pay tax as the commoner who earns peanuts per month. The peanuts never accrue to the seven number figures salaries. Allowing members to evade paying taxes shows how much ‘tabula rasa’ minds we have, dominated in the administration. They always show up at the end of their term to give as ephemeral happiness by distributing shillings to the less fortunate people in the society. They also develop hospitals and roads as the citizens get happy not knowing that this man or woman will compensate everything he/she had while doing their colourful campaigns.
Attaining a good legal system isn’t easy. The government resources and expenditure depend on the block and pillars on what the newly proposed laws are produced and built. If they are founded on solid stones, they will hold up and withstand sways of time, but when built on soft sand, it will fall and get trampled on.
On my own perspective, development of uneducated citizens is one if the strongest pillars the government should look keenly at. This is because citizens are not in positions to support political process unless they understand it. When people are educated, they tend to understand the government principles, rules and policies hence in positions to choose better leaders of their choice.
People have always received criticism when they try to correct something in the activities of their country. For example, innocent citizens have been criticised on formulating problems on themselves especially when they bring out their grievances. The “mercenaries” of the government are considered double-edged swords which cut on both sides. They curb as soon as you become a “troubled noise-maker of people’s rights” Why inflict such a troubled environment on your citizens? The consequential factor of people who try to “infringe” as they say with the “rules” of the government or become the sound of a multitude of people is that they disappear in a crude way.
Factors should be laid down to curb “political turmoil”, neo-colonialism and indignity especially if nothing is done in the term of the leader’s tyrannical rule. We should advocate for purposeful and effectively analysed change that should be put in the pipe and smoked out. We have “sweet solutions” the problem comes in the implementation. For God’ sake there is no need for a human being to start blaming the government from the cradle to the grave. His whole life is wasted while complaining and elucidating the deliberate evils inflicted on them by the government.
Finally, if all this are put into work, this will be a ticket to hike to the heights of a true Country. A reliable and strong one! Let’s build a generation free from obsessed greedy and corrupt minds. Let’s bury the undecipherable breed that causes chaos in peace.
